What Belongs To You

Garth Greenwell does not waste a word in this beautifully efficient suckerpunch of a love story. Books are too often described as haunting, but this is haunting, and lives on long after you've turned the last page. Greenwell's ability to conjure time and place — whether an adolescent sexual awakening with another boy, or the city of Sofia — is astounding. You are never less than fully engaged from first word to last.
